Hi Louise, first things

first, please can you

introduce yourself!

Hello! I'm Louise Roe, I'm a fashion journalist and broadcaster, who has an enormous love of interior design too. I moved back from a decade in LA, to England, recently.

Please tell us more about your stunning home and how @louiseroehome came about?

We began decorating our house in the countryside and I started documenting it, but also sharing other sources of inspiration - small businesses and fantastic interior designers. It's grown into this lovely community, a really great resource where people share tips and discover new brands. I ask as many questions as I answer!

Please could you describe your interior style, has it always been the same or has it evolved over time?

It has evolved from LA, but I'm also a believer that your surroundings and the house itself dictates much of the style. In England, the weather can be quite grey (unlike LA) so warmer colours, cosy layering and interesting textures are what I love here. And antiques!

I have an enormous love of interior design!

What brands or trends inspire you or your house purchases?

Lots of old wicker, scallops, historical paint colours that might once have decked out the house, plenty of second-hand art, old plates - the more chipped, the better!

What interior Instagram accounts inspire you, could you name your top 3?

Gosh that's hard! There are so many and I discover more every day. @AConsideredSpace is fab, @Tarn_London and @BibleofBritishTaste.

We love your room plans, especially the way you plan to use pops of colour to brighten up the space. Do you have any tips for our followers on how to achieve a stylish home?

Make a great moodboard first - even if that's just a folder of screengrabs on your phone (like me!). It keeps me on track.

You have become known for your incredible home tips and tricks, what is your go to interior trick?

I made a video recently on the best faux plants (such a faux pas - haha!) but I finally found a realistic one and planted it in an old Victorian clay pot, with real soil. It sits next to a radiator so would not have survived, plus I kill every plant - so this is perfect. The video is on my @LouiseRoeHome IGTV.

We love the look of your laundry room, which room are you most excited about?

We have actually just moved to London, as realised it was better suited to us both, so I'm really excited to begin renovations on our new Victorian townhouse.

We just discovered a pretty Victorian tiled hearth as we took up the old carpets yesterday. Buried treasure! I'm documenting the whole process as we go.

What's your favourite home purchase you have made

recently and is there anything on your Wishlist?

A huge marbled candle from @By_Alice_Home and a striped scrunchie pendant from @AlicePalmerco.

And finally what does the future hold for @louiseroehome is there anything left up your sleeve?

Yes there is!

I am launching my very own project in the homewares space this summer. I've been working on this for over a year, and just cannot wait to share it with my followers!
