What is Cottagecore and the reasons why we’re loving it..

Keep hearing the word ‘Cottagecore’ and wondering what everyone is talking about? This has to be one of our favourite trends this summer. Think barefoot walking amongst the trees and pretty delicate florals reminiscent of your grandma’s house. This oh-so-chic trend makes us super excited (yup – we are seriously thinking about redecorating our houses.. again!), so we’re delving into the details so you can achieve the cutest home interior that’s right on-trend.

So what is Cottagecore?

A movement that harks back to agricultural life, Cottagecore is all about nostalgia. Remember all that home baking we did throughout lockdown? I mean, who didn’t make their own sourdough starter!? Well, Cottagecore forms part of this very interest. With growing attention to simpler, more sustainable living and an existence that is more connected to nature, Cottagecore nods to country style, wistfulness and a touch of romance. Finding refuge in the great outdoors never felt more essential than in 2020 and the trend has grown this year to incorporate everything from gardening and interior design, to cooking and even frolicking in the wilderness!
