The Best UK Hotels to Visit for Interior Inspiration

We love a hotel stay at LIV for Interiors, so we thought we’d share our favourite places to stay that we feel have the best interior décor. From recent visits to Another Place – which has got us painting our fire surrounds and skirtings for a colour drenching aesthetic, to trips to the Yard in Bath with all the neutral colour palette hues, we’re constantly inspired by the places where we stay. So why not book your next UK trip at one of these dream interior havens?

Another Place, The Lakes

@rebecca_norris

A relaxed, contemporary hotel situated beside Ullswater in the Lake District is Another Place. With its stunning location and interior to match it’s one to add to the ‘places to visit’ list. A forward-thinking hotel, Another Place was recently featured the BBC Two show, Interior Design Masters, with the winner getting the opportunity to design one of the large family suites. Combining on-trend eclectic styling with heritage colours and exquisite panelling, the hotel isn’t afraid of using colour. We certainly admire their ability to pair pops of vibrant shades in a way that still stays true to the heritage of the building.

Artist Residence, Brighton

Artist Residence

With striking wrought iron beds and plush velvet orange chairs, Artist Residence sure knows how to play with texture. Throw in some French grain sack cushions and one-off collectable furniture pieces and you’ll have an interior that’s visually striking and rather homely too! We love this aesthetic with its bold-coloured walls and patterned rugs; it’s a scheme that has us totally inspired to be brave with colour and individual in our furniture choices.

Bodmin Jail Hotel, Cornwall

Bodmin Jail Hotel

Nestled deep in the heart of Cornwall is the impressive Bodin Jail Hotel. Featuring eclectic décor, the hotel knows how to enhance its unusual character. With luxurious bedding and the odd pop of colour, the hotel’s décor doesn’t detract from the fact that it was in fact once an old jail! An industrial aesthetic with elegant contemporary touches, the hotel makes the most of its natural features including its exposed brick walls to deliver a scheme that’s elegant and historical. Just try not to have nightmares about being locked up for life whilst you sleep!

The Pig on the South Downs

Ok ok! We know The Pig gets a lot of exposure but so it should! Packed with bold wallpaper, clashing prints and eclectic charm, each hotel is truly individual. A lesson on mixing prints, The Pig shows just how to do it. With the perfect balance of bold, dark and daring interiors with patterns galore, the chain of ‘it’ hotels has got it just right in our opinion — plus, the food is pretty good too! Definitely worth a visit when you next plan on a South Downs hike, even if you just pop in for lunch.
