Know your style
Are you a fan of clean, modern or classic French style? Is your bedroom for lounging or luxuriating? Are your accessories sharp or lavishly curvy? Getting your style right from the get-go is vital, so ask yourself how you’re going to use the space and what kind of atmosphere you want to capture, then you can apply this to your furniture style, as well as lighting, and then accessories. Your bed will undoubtedly be the largest item in your room, so make sure it’s the focal point and sets the style tone.
When choosing your bed style, consider these points to get it right first time:
1. If you’re tall, like watching TV in bed, or would like to create a sense of space in a more bijou room, then a bed without a footboard may be preferable.
2. If you like to read in bed, perhaps consider an upholstered headboard, as it’s softer to rest your head against, without having the fuss of rearranging pillows.
3. Do you intend to move home in the coming years, or perhaps like to change your décor regularly? If so, choose a neutral colour of bedframe, so it will coordinate with any base scheme, regardless of your current colour palette.
4. Would you like a romantic French style of bed, or a more modern bed that will sit against contemporary fitted furniture and accessories?

It's safe to say that there’s nowhere quite as calming and serene to lay your head at the end of the day than an all-white bedroom. Spa-like, airy and ethereal, this scheme compels relaxation and comfort, as all well-designed bedrooms should. Think about bed linen
So, if your bed takes up the most bedroom ‘real estate’, then your bed linen is the most important accessory you can buy! Think about the design, but also consider the feel of various textures against your skin. Are you a 100% cotton sleeper, or do you prefer the breathability of pure 100% linen?

Make your space personal. Once your furniture, mattress and bed linen are set, add layers of decorative, loved accessories, as you would in any other space. A collection of personal photographs, favourite books, a lush green plant, a vase of fresh blooms, or a sentimental vase or keepsake box will all make the space your own, providing a feeling of comfort and familiarity.
