Neo Mint – The hot new colour trend to hit interiors

There’s a new ‘It’ colour in town and it goes by the name of Neo Mint.

Botanical hues have been around for a while, but this latest update from the ‘green’ colour family has a distinctly contemporary edge that sets it apart from any other hues in the spectrum. The palette is versatile in terms of tonal variation, ranging from fresh, zingy shades of spearmint and aquamarine, to richer notes of jade and emerald. From closet to cushion, this colour is guaranteed to be making an appearance in both your home and wardrobe in 2019 / 20.

When it comes to home décor, a little mint can go a long way; if you want a complete room lift then go all-out with paint, tiles and kitchen cabinetry, alternatively introducing a touch of mint in the form of bed linen, accessories and window dressings can be just as impactful.

Here’s some inspiration on how you can effortlessly incorporate this cool colour into every room in the home.

Take it to the kitchen

Whilst mint might not be the go-to colour for kitchen cabinetry, it’s actually really effective in creating a refreshing and tranquil space. This effortlessly cool Swedish home, captured by photographer Jonas Ingerstedt, embraces the ‘Mint’ theme in every room! But we think the kitchen is where this colour really shines. Combined with pale, natural wood surfaces, these modern, handleless mint door fronts set the scene for a calm kitchen space.

SAY IT WITH PAINT

Paint is a great way to embrace a bolder colour palette without committing long-term; when trends change, simply grab a paintbrush and update the entire look of your room in an instant. For now, we’re all for mint commanding every inch of our wall space. Farrow & Ball’s Arsenic looks great set against white accents and industrial accessories.

Looking for a very specific shade of mint? Then head to Benjamin Moore for hundreds of options...be warned, you will find it almost impossible to choose between all of the beautiful shades! Our favourites are Antigua Aqua, Bud Green and Flordia Keys.
